Students completing a home education program according to Florida Statutes are eligible for admission consideration. A home-schooled applicant must present credentials determined to be equivalent to a standard high school diploma and high school transcript, submitting: a transcript or grade report for four years for all instructional methods; official SAT, ACT, or CLT scores; any available AP, AICE, IB and/or CLEP score reports; and the FAU Home School Transcript Form.
Home education applicants face a specific minimum-score floor: an applicant whose high school educational program is not measured in Carnegie Units must present minimum section scores of 490 ERW + 480 Math on the SAT (or a 1060 combined SAT), or 17 English + 19 Math on the ACT (or a 21 ACT composite), or a CLT floor of 38 Verbal/Grammar + 16 Quantitative. This homeschool-specific floor applies in addition to the universal Board of Governors test requirement (see Testing).
