Applicant guide

Hood College welcomes applications from homeschooled students and evaluates each applicant holistically. Homeschooled applicants must submit a homeschool transcript or other official documentation verifying that their education meets the standards of a local high school. This can come from a state Department of Education, a homeschool liaison, or a district official. The transcript should include the student’s name, courses completed with final grades and credit earned, GPA, graduation date, grading scale, and should be signed and dated by an authorized administrator, homeschool instructor, parent, or guardian (self-certification is accepted).

If the student has completed any dual enrollment or college coursework, official transcripts from those colleges must be submitted in addition to the homeschool transcript. Hood College is test-optional, meaning students are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores for admission or scholarship consideration. Hood recommends that homeschooled applicants complete an admissions interview.
