Applicant guide

If you are completing your high school education via home schooling, you should apply as a home schooled student. If you are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, you should apply as an International Applicant. (Undocumented immigrants residing in the U.S. should apply as Home Schooled Applicants.)

Application Complete your application online—use the Common Application, the Coalition Application, or the Knox College Application. There is no application fee.

Secondary School Report and Transcript On your application, you can list a parent as your school counselor, and that parent can complete the School Report. Your parent should also provide a transcript or other detailed documentation which lists the subjects studied each year, a description of each course of study, and major texts used or literature read.

Teacher Evaluation On your application, identify a teacher to submit a recommendation. This can be provided by a parent or by another instructor of your academic courses.

Interview An interview with an admission counselor is required for home schooled applicants. If you are not able to visit campus or meet with an admission counselor in your area before the application deadline, we are also able to conduct interviews by phone or the internet. Contact the Office of Admissions to schedule an interview.
