Mercer University evaluates home-schooled applicants using the same standards applied to all first-year applicants. To be considered for admission, applicants are expected to present the following minimum high school curriculum:
- English – 4 units*
- Mathematics – 4 units* (must include Algebra II, Geometry, and a fourth mathematics course for which Algebra II is a prerequisite)
- Science – 3 units* (must include laboratory courses from the life and physical sciences)
- Social Science – 3 units* (must include United States and World Studies)
- Foreign Language – 2 units* (both units must be in the same language)
*A unit is defined as a Carnegie Unit, which represents one full academic year of study in a given subject.
