Oklahoma State University evaluates freshman applicants based on the highest cumulative GPA (weighted or unweighted) as reflected on the official high school transcript, standardized to a 4.0 scale when necessary.

Assured Admission Criteria for Non-Accredited School Graduates

Students graduating from non-accredited private, parochial, or home study programs qualify for assured admission by meeting the following requirements:

1. High school graduation or completion of home study program

2. Minimum composite score of 24 ACT or 1160 SAT

3. Fulfillment of high school curricular requirements, certified with original signature by school officials or, for home study programs, the parent/guardian

Holistic Review Process

Applicants not meeting assured admission standards undergo comprehensive evaluation through our alternative admission programs. This review considers multiple factors including:

  • Academic performance (GPA and test scores)
  • Application essays
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Community engagement
  • Notable achievements
Standardized Test Policy

Applicants may elect test-optional admission, including graduates of non-accredited schools. However, most university scholarship considerations require official ACT/SAT scores. We strongly encourage applicants to submit test scores when available to maximize scholarship opportunities.

1. The university considers all official ACT/SAT scores submitted but utilizes only the highest composite score for admission and scholarship determinations.

2. For test-optional applicants, submitted scores will still be considered for scholarship eligibility.

3. OSU exclusively accepts official ACT superscores provided directly from ACT.
