Home-schooled students are warmly welcomed at Sacred Heart University. If you’re a home-schooled student, we strongly advise you to schedule a campus visit and require a personal interview to determine if SHU’s academic and student life are a good fit for you. Homeschooled students follow the same application process as other freshman applicants with some exceptions. Homeschooled students must submit:

• Transcripts from a home-school agency (if applicable)
• Literature describing the home-school agency with which you are affiliated (if applicable)
• A portfolio of academic accomplishments including: a reading list, examples of academic research, a list of extracurricular activities (community service, athletic participation, clubs and organizations)
• Details on whether your home-school experience was correspondence-school based, parent/student designed, unschooled/non-curriculum based, or a combination
• A letter of recommendation that may be written by parent(s)
• Official college transcripts (if applicable)
