Applicant guide

The College of Wooster is eager to connect with homeschooled applicants, recognizing the intellectual and social flexibility and the community involvement that are often hallmarks of homeschooling.  Homeschooled students thrive at Wooster given the independence, creativity, and rigor that characterize our curriculum. We welcome applications, using the same criteria to evaluate homeschooled applicants as we do for all applicants, with the addition of an interview with an admissions representative. We encourage you to reach out with any questions you might have about your homeschool curriculum.

To apply as a homeschool student, please complete the following steps by your selected deadline:

  • Schedule and complete an admissions interview with an admissions staff member. Call our office to schedule this interview, 330-263-2322.
  • Apply using The Common Application, Apply Coalition on Scoir, or Wooster Priority Application.
  • Provide detailed course descriptions or syllabi for all academic work completed through the homeschooling program.
  • Submit TWO letters of recommendation, including one from a person who has provided academic instruction and one from someone outside of the student’s home.
