Thiel College is a private, homeschool-friendly college for students who learn differently. Some of the aspects of our model that homeschooled students have found appealing include:
Small class sizes
One-on-one academic advising
Thiel Learning Commons for supplemental learning opportunities, such as tutoring and instruction
Internship and career counseling services
Wellness and counseling services
In addition, we have online classes and our Dual Enrollment and College in High School programs, as well as our Excel program for those students looking to elevate their learning skills and study habits as part of the college transition.
We recognize that each homeschool family is unique. To better understand each student's high school experience, we highly encourage an initial conversation with a Thiel Admissions Counselor. Along with your educational goals, we’d like to hear about the courses you’ve studied and activities in which you have participated outside the home.
Thiel’s admissions requirements for homeschoolers are the same as for students who have a traditional background. What differs for homeschooled college students is how your records are obtained. To ensure that your application is processed as quickly and efficiently as possible, your Thiel Admissions Counselor will be with you every step of the way. Application information:
SAT, ACT, and/or CLT scores (SAT/ACT scores optional for 2021 due to COVID-19)
An official high school transcript and any college transcripts which should include the student’s course of study and grades
Two letters of recommendation from individuals outside the home
One essay (see application for the topic)
Early Decision Academic Data Form or Regular Decision Academic Data Form
