Homeschooled applicants are evaluated using the same admissions standards as students from public or private schools. Applicants must submit a transcript that includes:
- The name and contact information of the homeschool administrator (address, email, etc.)
- The student’s identifying information (name, date of birth, address)
- A complete record of coursework with grades earned, organized by year and semester/term
For details regarding the University’s curriculum requirements, please review the Pre-College Curriculum section under “Transcripts” at the following link: UK Admissions Checklist.
Homeschool administrators (typically a parent or guardian) are authorized to prepare and submit transcripts on behalf of the student, just as a guidance counselor would at a traditional school. Transcripts may be submitted by email to [Documents@uky.edu](mailto:Documents@uky.edu) or mailed to the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
The University of Kentucky is test-optional. Submission of ACT or SAT scores is not required for admission or scholarship consideration. However, students are encouraged to submit official scores if available, as they may strengthen the application. Please note that test scores will not negatively impact admission or scholarship review.
