USC accepts applications from students enrolled in non-traditional programs and high schools not recognized by one of the regional accrediting organizations.
In addition to the required application items, homeschooled applicants must also submit answers to the home-school questions on the “Common Application Secondary School Report.” Be sure to include information about your homeschooling philosophy, curricular choices, and textbooks used. Home-schooled students need to provide us with detailed syllabi of courses, names of textbooks, details of any assistance you are receiving or curriculum you are following through any public or private agency, and any additional information that may be helpful in our review of your application.
We find it helpful to have work that is externally graded or examined so we recommend submitting either SAT/ACT results, SAT subject exam results, AP exam results, transcripts from college courses or other accredited online schooling programs if possible.
Rachel Cho is the admission counselor that works with homeschooled students, and students currently attending Correspondence and Non-Traditional Schools. She can be reached at rachelcho@usc.edu.
